Norwegian Inspostudio bridals

I was so pleased when Jessica with J Noelle Design contacted me about shooting this styled shoot.  She lived in Norway for a year and a half and was creator of this european magic. If you’re looking for crisp, Nordic inspiration, keep scrolling! Reminisces of intimacy and winter are reflected in the earthy florals and simple invitation suite.  The soft lacy gowns and crown are direct reflection of traditional Norwegian wedding culture.

From Jessica: Hygge in Norwegian means “to embrace” or “a pleasant and highly valued experience of safety, equality, personal wholeness and a spontaneous social flow.” It is a feeling or moment of contentment. The Norwegian adjective koselig is used to describe a feeling of warmth, intimacy and togetherness.

The Handfasting ceremony is the traditional Nordic version of a ring ceremony.  Just like exchanging rings, the bride and groom’s hands are joined together with a symbolic ribbon or material, and vows and words of commitment are expressed.

Each bride wears a “wedding crown” and I love that tradition.  Our model Hannah wore three different crowns, all created by the amazing Sparrow Station.

We love this opal and diamond ring by Kumi Utah.  A gorgeous alternative to a traditional center diamond stone.

Thanks to our wonderful team that put this together!
